Beauty Work & Retouching

Beauty work and retouching in online editing are like a digital touch-up for your video subjects. This isn't about drastic changes, but subtle enhancements. It could mean digitally cleaning off the mould on the side of a building, or removing a temporary blemish on the cheek. Or as I was once tasked to do, removing the black-eye of a boxer who took a hit the night before his interview. It ensures everything in your video looks perfect, adding that layer of refined polish to your professional video production.

Removals

Oops! Did a stray microphone sneak into the shot? Or maybe a crew member accidentally wandered into the background? Don't sweat it! Removals are where we meticulously erase unwanted objects or people from your footage. This is where the adage of fix it in post comes from and we often refer to it as “painting it out” because that’s what we do. We paint on a frame and motion track those brush strokes onto the entire sequence. Removals are part of the repair work, but they can also liberate story allowing lights to be placed in shot or tracking markers for VFX work.
