Project: Gobbledok Campaign

Services: Offline Editing, Online Editing (Advanced Compositing, Motion Tracking, Rotoscoping), Sound Mixing, Colour Grading

The Smiths Gobbledok campaign presented a unique challenge: rolling out multiple phases of user-generated content style videos featuring the iconic Gobbledok character. The creative brief had multiple edits, some of which were shot on green screen and demanded seamless integration of the Gobbledok into diverse environments

We handled the entire post-production pipeline for 10 individual assets, each with its own distinct creative needs. This included managing the offline edit, executing the complex online editing, performing precise sound mixing, and finessing the final colour grade. Our ability to provide a complete post-production experience from ingest right through to archival ensured a creative and seamless workflow for each edit.

A particular difficulty arose in compositing the Gobbledok while preserving intricate details such as fine hair and reflections on the chep packet. This required leveraging advanced compositing techniques and tools like Nuke to ensure the Gobbledok didn't receive a digital haircut.

We utilised motion tracking for photo replacements. Leveraging tools like Mocha Pro for tracking and Nuke for compositing. We also finished with colour in Resolve and sound in ProTools.
